To develop in pupils competence in making wise consumer decisions To develop interest in the vocational aspects of the subject Skills:Pupils should be able; To use a variety of methods to develop cognitive skill such as discovery - learning and problem solving To demonstrate a range of practical skills To obtain and retrieve information from various sources To use unrepealable constructive skills such as creativity, imagination To record information virtuously To interpret data Syllabus Structure:The syllabus structure consists of two sections: A worldwide undertow of five areas of study One elective from a nomination of three The five areas of study include: Food studies and Culinary Skills Consumer Studies Social and Health Studies Resource Management and Home Studies Textile Studies One elective will be chosen from the pursuit three: Childcare Design and Craftwork Textile Skills The syllabus is offered at two levels, Ordinary and Higher. Assessment:Assessment of pupils will consist of both practical and written examinations, at Ordinary and at Higher levels.
